How to Measure Your Wrist for a Cuff Bracelet

We size our cuffs and bracelets based on the circumference of the wearer's wrist, not the piece itself. To find your ideal size, we suggest wrapping a soft measuring tape or string comfortably taut around your wrist where you want your cuff to rest and recording the measurement without any slack. If using a string, mark the circumference without any slack or cut the string at that point. Then lay the string against a ruler to get your measurement.

Find your corresponding size below:

6 inches - Small

6.5 inches - Medium

7 inches - Large

7.5 inches - XL

If you fall exactly between two sizes, we recommend sizing up.

Custom-made jewelry is final sale so always be sure you feel comfortable with the size you have ordered.

How to Measure Your Wrist for a Bracelet and Bangle Bracelet

These guidelines are for traditional bracelets and bangle bracelets that either have a clasp or slip over your hand. See other instructions on measuring your wrist for a cuff bracelet if that is the style you are shopping for.

How to Measure for Traditional or Bracelet:

1. Measure around the wrist at the wrist bone. Choose a place where you would normally wear a bracelet. To take the measurement, use a bracelet gauge, a ribbon measuring tape or even a strip of paper and a ruler.

2. To use the strip of paper, mark where the end of the bracelet needs to be and then measure the paper with a ruler. No matter the method, the measurement is the wrist size.

Increase the wrist measurement in the following increments to determine the bracelet size for how you want the bracelet to fit.

Add 1/4 to 1/2 inch to the measurement for a snug fit, 3/4 to 1 inch for a comfortable fit, or about 1-1/4 inch for a loose fit.

How to Measure your Wrist for a Bangle Bracelet:

1. Hold your hand as if you were putting on a bangle. Bring all of your fingers together with your thumb and little finger touching.

2. Measure around the hand at the widest point with a tape measure or a strip of paper. Be sure to pull the paper or tape measure snug against your skin. Mark the paper with a pen and measure it with a ruler. This measurement is the circumference of your hand.

3. After determining the diameter, choose a bangle that’s at least 1/4 inch larger in diameter than the diameter measurement of your hand.

Convert Hand Circumference to Diameter ( A general rule for sizing)

7-1/2 inches equals approximately 2-3/8 inches in diameter – small

8-1/4 inches equals approximately 2-5⁄8 inches in diameter – medium

8-5⁄8 inches equals approximately 2-3⁄4 inches in diameter – large

How Do I Care for My Jewelry?

Amy Lynn Jewelry is constructed with Sterling Silver (925 (92.5%) a standard for the jewelry industry), Brass, Gold-Filled, and Copper components.

Your jewelry should retain its beautiful luster without any special care. If your favorite piece needs a little brush-up, you can regularly wipe your jewelry clean with a soft polishing cloth to restore its shine. Most purchases include a small polishing cloth. I recommend Sunshine Polishing Cloths.

Sterling Silver can be prone to darkening if not worn frequently. Many customers like the look of the natural patina that develops on their metal pieces with time. We recommend cleaning your piece after wear with a soft polishing cloth if you prefer a higher shine.

With any jewelry, care should be taken to avoid lotions or creams, detergent or cleaners, and heavy perfumes. These can alter the finish of jewelry. Some pieces contain vintage items..but with all items, treat these as art and they will last you a very long time.

Take your jewelry off each day before showering, washing dishes, etc. Create a special place or display for it to be stored when not being worn.
